Fourteen drivers were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence during a DUI enforcement operation conducted by the Fresno Police Department on Saturday.

According to police, those arrested could face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, along with license suspensions, for a first-time DUI offense.

Another DUI enforcement operation is scheduled for Saturday, April 19, with additional patrols and checkpoints planned throughout the year as part of the department’s efforts to keep roads safe.

The enforcement efforts are funded through a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, via the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, police said.
